5 Tips to Organizing Baby’s Room

Who would have thought a small baby would need so many things? Staying organized with the baby’s room is crucial to making your life run a little smoother.  You will surely need things in a flash and it’s easiest when you know where they are. When I was preparing for my son’s arrival, we had to clear out one of our guest rooms. When we started removing all the furniture, the room seemed so big. However once we then added in all the baby furniture, I realized I needed to maximize as much space as possible. These techniques helped me and could apply no matter what your space looks like. Check them out!

  1. The Multipurpose Dresser: To save space we used the dresser as a changing table instead of buying another piece of furniture. It definitely worked and made changing diapers a breeze. In the picture I labeled how I organize each draw. It’s important to keep like items together so you are not constantly checking multiple places for a single item.
**TIP: Be sure to screw in the changing pad to the back of the dresser for safety and the dresser to the wall. These straps are so easy to install.
  2. Double Rod in the closet: Baby clothes are tiny so why not maximize the space by adding in a second rod. I also organize the rod with size tags so I can easily group the clothes accordingly
  3. Hanging Bibs: An easy way to organize all the bibs is with a single hanger. I prefer felt hangers as the items don’t slip but any hanger could work
  4. Storage under the crib: I use the drawer under the crib for extra sheets, pillow cases and extra mattress covers. If you don’t have a drawer attached to your crib, a simple underbed storage bag can do the trick!
  5. Pack away outgrown clothes: It’s literally shocking how quickly babies outgrow their clothes. Keeping on top of this is key as you can quickly lose track of what fits and what doesn’t. As my son starts outgrowing his clothes I keep an empty plastic container on his closet floor that gets filled with all the clothes in the outgrown age category. I then label the container and throw it into our attic for storage
